Man loses fight for life after Newry gun attack

A man was killed in a gun attack in the North today.

A man was killed in a gun attack in the North today.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was shot at a house in Newry, Co Down, at about 1am.

He underwent emergency treatment at hospital, but police later confirmed he had died.

No motive for the shooting was disclosed, but a major investigation team was sent to begin the hunt for clues.

Detectives have sealed off the scene of the attack at Ardcarne Park.

Further gunfire at a house on the same street and in the Parkhead Crescent area of the town was also being investigated.
