Harlequins’ continuing efforts to keep their top players for next season’s National Division One campaign have met with further success.
The club – relegated from the Zurich Premiership last month – today announced that Ugo Monye, Mike Worsley, Gavin Duffy, George Harder, Mel Deane and Tani Fuga will remain at The Stoop.
A clutch of Quins’ younger stars have also agreed to help new director of rugby Dean Richards secure an immediate return to the top flight with Adrian Jarvis, Tom Williams, Duncan James and Tom Guest on board.
The news is hugely encouraging for Quins fans who last week learnt that big guns Andre Vos, Tony Diprose and Will Greenwood had agreed to stay with the Twickenham-based club, while new signings are also planned.
Quins chief executive Mark Evans said: “The response we’ve had from the squad has been magnificent and I’m sure the news about which players are staying will be a tremendous fillip for everyone associated with the club."
