The GAA's Ulster Council is to launch in inquiry after a referee was struck in the face during an Ulster club semi-final yesterday in Belfast.
Cavan official Martin Brady was hit in the face by a spectator at Casement Park following Mayobridge's win over Carrickmore in the Ulster club football semi-final. Brady was shocked but not seriously hurt.
Ulster Council secretary Danny Murphy said: "The Ulster Council will deal with any incident arising within the rules of the Association."
The spectator appeared to come from the section of the ground that housed the Carrickmore fans. Stewards intervened, but the spectator escaped into the crowd. Carrickmore lost the match by two points.
