There were more losses than gains in early trading on the Irish Stock Exchange as the ISEQ index was down 22.11 points in early trading.
The financials all showed small losses. Irish Life and Permanent declined 8c to €3.03 after it was announced that group treasurer Michael Torpey is to join the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA). Allied Irish Banks (down 2c to €1.57) and Bank of Ireland (down 1c to €1.31) showed slight losses.
The construction sector also has a tough morning, with CRH falling 29c to €18.78. Both Grafton and Kingspan fell 11c to €3.02 and €6.31 respectively.
Paddy Power endured the heaviest loss of the day, sliding 33c to €25.15. Donegal Creameries (down 14c to €1.96), Irish Continental Group (down 12c to €15.78) and DCC (down 10c to €19.50) all showed losses.
There were some gains however. Tullow Oil was up 35c to €13.85, and Glanbia gained 11c to €2.90.
