16-year-old never showed for probation appointment

It has emerged that the 16-year-old alleged to have been driving the car involved in the fatal crash which killed two gardai, failed to turn up for an appointment with probation services.

It has emerged that the 16-year-old alleged to have been driving the car involved in the fatal crash which killed two gardai, failed to turn up for an appointment with probation services.

It had been arranged for the teenager just weeks before last Sunday's horrific accident in Stillorgan. He had been assessed by the Finglas Child and Adolescent Centre on February 15.

He was referred to a probation hostel and an appointment was set up for him with probation services.
