Alan Kirby scored a stunning brace of goals as Joseph Ndo capped a man of the match display with the other strike as St. Patrick's made a winning debut in the Setanta Sports Cup.

Ex-Cameroon international Ndo made a telling return to Inchicore following his two years at Shelbourne with the opening goal on 42 minutes, his deflected shot beating Kevin Pressman after Gary O'Neill had worked the opening.

Ndo showed his strength and speed within two minutes of the second half to win possession and slip Kirby in for his first goal of the night, a cracking shot to the roof of the net.

The game was over as a contest on 53 minutes when Kirby beat Pressman again with a low shot after a classic counterattack saw Keith Fahey carry the ball 60 yards before playing Kirby in on goal.
