Bomb threat delays Rice arrival

Visiting US Secretary Of State Condoleezza Rice and her entourage were delayed arriving at their Moscow hotel today because of bomb threats.

Visiting US Secretary Of State Condoleezza Rice and her entourage were delayed arriving at their Moscow hotel today because of bomb threats.

There were two bomb threats – one at the hotel itself and an earlier one in the vicinity of the hotel.

The party learned of the threat while still airborne.

While Russian security services swept the hotel, Ms Rice went to the ambassador’s residence and members of her party went to the US Embassy.

Ms Rice is in Russia for two days of talks.
