The five-year-old boy killed in a freak accident in Co Kerry yesterday has been named.

The five-year-old boy killed in a freak accident in Co Kerry yesterday has been named.

Finbarr O'Sullivan died after a donkey dragged him along the ground just before 6pm yesterday evening.

The child had been leading the donkey by a rope around a field at his home in Lauragh near Killarney, when the animal bolted.

His seven-year-old sister raised the alarm, but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem is being carried out today.
