Spanish referee Manuel Enrique Gonzalez will take charge of Wednesday’s Champions League final between Liverpool and AC Milan.

Spanish referee Manuel Enrique Gonzalez will take charge of Wednesday’s Champions League final between Liverpool and AC Milan.

The 40-year-old will lead an all-Spanish team of officials at the Ataturk Olympic stadium in Istanbul.

Oscar Martinez Samaniego and Clemente Ayete Plou will be the assistant referees with Arturo Dauden Ibanez fourth official, the UEFA Referees Committee announced today.

Gonzalez refereed Milan’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the first knock-out stage this season and was one of 12 referees used at Euro 2004 in Portugal last summer.
