Nicky Henderson’s smart prospect Fleet Street is to miss his intended engagement at Wetherby on Saturday and head straight for the Letheby & Christopher Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Henry Ponsonby, who fronts the syndicate which owns the German import, said: “The ground is likely to be far too testing in the Rossington Main Hurdle and we don’t want to see the horse messed about as he’s much better on good ground.
“There’s a possibility he could have one more run at Newbury but the likelihood is he’ll go straight to Cheltenham.”
Fleet Street has won two of his three starts over hurdles since joining Henderson, at Stratford and Taunton.
