FA top brass arrive for key meeting
Senior figures at the Football Association were arriving at Soho Square this morning for a strategy meeting to try to determine a way out of the chaos engulfing the organisation.
Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson was also touching down at Heathrow Airport after watching a tournament in Amsterdam and was expected to report back for duty at FA headquarters to catch up on the dramatic weekend developments that saw the resignation of chief executive Mark Palios.
Trevor Brooking, director of football development at the FA, arrived at around 9am and he was followed an hour later by FA chairman Geoff Thompson, who made his way inside through a throng of media representatives without commenting.
