Mushroom pickers awarded €26,000

Thirteen mushroom pickers have been awarded €26,000 each by the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

Thirteen mushroom pickers have been awarded €26,000 each by the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

All of them were dismissed for membership of a trade union, but the awards also relate to minimum notice, annual leave and pay for public holidays.

Four of the workers have also been awarded €9,000 in compensation for breaches of the Transfer of Undertakings legislation.
