Court orders hotelier Mansfield to pay €214m to bank

Hotelier Jim Mansfield has been ordered by the Commercial Court to pay Bank of Scotland €214m.

Hotelier Jim Mansfield has been ordered by the Commercial Court to pay Bank of Scotland €214m.

The bank has secured summary judgment orders against the businessman whose defence case was described by the bank's lawyers as "utterly fanciful".

It comes weeks after NAMA secured judgment for €74m against Mr Mansfield arising from personal guarantees on company loans.
