John O'Flynn made two and scored a brace as Cork blitzed Kilkenny to ease into the quarter-finals of the FAI Ford Cup.

Cork raced into a 3-0 lead within 21 minutes.

Central defender Brian O'Callaghan tapped home the opener form close range on 15 minutes before Cats' keeper Jim McDonnell could only parry a shot from O'Flynn to gift Leon McSweeney the second four minutes later.

It got worse for Cats two minutes later when again McDonnell couldn't hold a shot from O'Flynn and Colin Healy tapped home.

But Tommy Gaynor's side didn't lie down and John McNicholas' persistence got them a goal back on 32 minutes as he got the better of O'Callaghan before shooting past Michael Devine.

The goals dried up in the second half until O'Flynn wrapped it up for Cork when blasting to the roof of the net for their fourth strike of the night on 73 minutes before added his second with a stunning strike ten minutes from time.
