Park Ji-Sung could make his return to action for Manchester United during the Christmas and New Year programme.

The South Korean midfielder has not played for the Red Devils since suffering a knee injury against Blackburn in March but United manager Alex Ferguson is optimistic he will be back in action soon.

Ferguson told Manchester United Radio: “Park Ji-sung is now training with the first team and should be ready in a couple of weeks. He’ll be back in the fold in about two weeks’ time, I think.

“He’s a terrific young player and his return will be a great boost for us. He gives us more options going forward, which is good news.”

Park could be involved as early as the home clash with Everton on December 23.
