Will.i.am wants Cheryl Cole to perform on 'The Voice' to "p**s off" Simon Cowell.
The Black Eyed Peas frontman is thrilled the 'Fight For This Love' hitmaker – who was axed as a judge on the music mogul's US 'X Factor' last year after just one week – is in line to sing on the BBC One show because it could get one over on Simon.
Will – who is on the panel of the programme alongside Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue – told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I want her on the Voice. I mean why not? That would really p**s the big man off wouldn’t it.
“This is her year by the way - Cheryl is back! You all gonna love her new music - it’s on it, on the money.”
Will – who manages the Girls Aloud singer – is thought to have blocked a move for 28-year-old beauty to return to the UK X Factor.
A source said: “He wouldn’t let Cheryl call Simon and the production team. Simon and all the producers were gutted.”
A TV source added: "Cheryl has been working on new material for months. She is determined to relaunch herself as a credible artist and 'The Voice' will be the perfect platform to showcase her latest tracks.
“The fact her manager is on the judging panel means it’s an absolute no-brainer for her.”
