A blow has been dealt this evening, to Ireland's chances of rescheduling repayments on €31bn worth of Anglo promissory notes.
The Wallstreet Journal is reporting that European Economic Affairs Minister Olli Rehn has said that Ireland should respect its commitments and obligations, ruling out a postponement of the payments.
He was speaking after a meeting of EU Finance Ministers in Brussels today.
The first €3.1bn installment is due on March 31.
