Nakamura wins SFWA Player of the Year award
Shunsuke Nakamura has won the Scottish Football Writers' Association Player of the Year award.
The Celtic star, 28, beat off strong competition from his team-mate Stephen McManus to win the prestigious prize, adding to his Scottish Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year prize.
Hibernian midfielder Scott Brown, 21, has been voted the Young Scottish Player of the Year after a tight contest with Kilmarnock's Steven Naismith.
Celtic boss Gordon Strachan is the runaway winner of the Manager of the Year award, his second in a row.
"This is the 50th anniversary of the Association and we have exceptional winners in this special year," said SFWA president Jim Black said.
"Shunsuke Nakamura has been a pleasure to watch. His two free-kicks against Manchester United in the Champions League and Kilmarnock to win the SPL sum him up.
"He can produce moments of brilliance under extreme pressure.
"Scott has had a terrific season for Hibs and has also made an impact in Alex McLeish's Scotland team. He is a worthy recipient of our award.
"Gordon Strachan has led Celtic to another championship and the last 16 of the Champions League and deserves to be the manager of the year once again."
The SFWA awards ceremony will be held at the Glasgow Thistle Hotel on May 13.
