Man to appear in court in connection with Roscommon fire

A man is due before court today, in connection with a house fire in Co. Roscommon in which a child died.

A man is due before court today, in connection with a house fire in Co. Roscommon in which a child died.

The 33-year-old man was charged over the incident last night and is being held at Boyle garda station.

He will be brought before Ballinasloe District Court this morning.

Meanwhile, gardaí are continuing to question a woman in her fifties in relation to the same incident.

Five-year-old Mari Connolly died when the blaze broke out at the family home in Boyle in the early hours of Monday, October 3.
