Real Sociedad coach Chris Coleman has admitted it would be a blow to lose defender Javi Garrido to Manchester City.

Real Sociedad coach Chris Coleman has admitted it would be a blow to lose defender Javi Garrido to Manchester City.

Spanish media have suggested the 22-year-old left-back could be manager Sven-Goran Eriksson’s next capture in a deal which it is claimed could earn Sociedad up to three million euros (£2million).

Coleman said: “Javi is a good player and I don’t know any coach who would not prefer to have good players.

“It would be a loss, but that is how the situation is. If he wants to go and the clubs reach an agreement...”
