The pair, manager Walter Smith’s first choice front men, have been kept apart for months by injuries, Campbell only just returning from 11 weeks out with back trouble.

Smith, though, is still without Mark Pembridge, Abel Xavier, Tomasz Radzinski, Danny Cadamarteri, Thomas Gravesen, Steve Watson and Alessandro Pistone.

Gravesen and Watson have ankle injuries and are expected to resume training next week, while Radzinski who has strained stomach muscles should be back for next weekend’s FA Cup tie with Orient.
