The 24-week sit in at the former Vita Cortex plant in Cork could be nearing its end.

Redundancy payments have reportedly begun into the bank accounts of ex-employees at the firm.

A deal was agreed between the 32 protesters and company management earlier this month.

Once the payments have been received by all of the former employees, it is expected the sit-in will be called off.
