Ten people were killed in accidents on Ireland’s roads over the weekend, bringing the death toll so far this year to 272.

Ten people were killed in accidents on Ireland’s roads over the weekend, bringing the death toll so far this year to 272.

Three of the victims – two men and woman – died in a head-on collision between two cars in Co Tipperary early yesterday morning.

Two male cyclists also died in separate accidents in Co Cork and Co Limerick yesterday afternoon, while two male motorcyclists were killed in Cork city and Co Wexford on Saturday evening. A woman also died in the Co Wexford crash.

The other victims were a 23-year-old man who died when the car he was driving hit a fence in Co Roscommon yesterday morning and a 64-year-old man who died yesterday morning from injuries he sustained in a crash in Co Laois the previous day.
