The Irish senior boxing team were celebrating a treble today after David Oliver Joyce, Darren O'Neill and Con Sheehan claimed three golds at the 2009 European Union Championships in Odense, Denmark, today.
They were also presented with the team of the Championships award.
David Oliver Joyce claimed his second European Union title in a row following an impressive 8-2 win over Sandro Schaer of Germany.
And O'Neill made it a double with an emphatic 16- 2 win over Danish middleweight Stephen Alms.
Sheehan, who won silver at the 2008 EU Championships, completed the hat-trick with an equally impressive 13-3 win over Spanish heavyweight Juan Augustine Aleman.
But while Joyce, O'Neill and Sheehan were celebrating, Declan Geraghty, John Joe Nevin and Willie Mclaughlin had to settle for silver.
Geraghty and defending bantamweight Nevin were beaten 13-3 by England's Khalid Yafai and by 9-7 Germanys Denis Makarov.
And McLaughlin lost out 12-4 to Hungarian welterweight Balaza Bacskai.
The Irish team will arrive home via Dublin Airport at 5pm tomorrow.
Twenty nations were competing in Denmark.
