Government report on low fares terminal due soon

The publication of a report on a low fares terminal at Dublin Airport is expected within days.

The publication of a report on a low fares terminal at Dublin Airport is expected within days.

However, it is still not known if the Government favours the plan.

Ryanair yesterday announced an ambitious expansion plan, involving the purchase of at least 100 extra Boeing 737 aircraft.

The low fares airline said Ireland will not gain any new routes or 3,000 new jobs until the Government changes its policy regarding low cost carriers.

Aer Rianta has lobbied against the development of an economy pier at Dublin Airport and the Government is expected to make its final decision shortly after the publication of the report on the issue.
