SIPTU activists in state agencies are due to meet today to discuss their approach the Government's decentralisation plans.

SIPTU has already claimed that almost 95% of its members in agencies like Enterprise Ireland and Fáilte Ireland do not want to move out of Dublin.

Reports this morning said SIPTU was also angered by the fact that a survey of civil servants’ preferences due to be carried out by the Government next month will not include an option for them to remain in Dublin in their current positions.

The Government is planning to move 10,000 civil servants out of Dublin to more than 50 locations nationwide as part of its decentralisation programme.
