New tax evasion scandal 'may be on way'

The Chairman of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee Micheal Noonan has warned that another tax evasion scandal could be in the pipeline.

The Chairman of the Dáil Public Accounts Committee Micheal Noonan has warned that another tax evasion scandal could be in the pipeline.

Mr Noonan says the committee has received information on the sale of insurance products as a tax evasion tool in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Deputy Noonan says he believes people recycled undeclared income by investing it in an insurance product, which landed them with a lump sum after a specific period of time.
