Govt must commit to collective bargaining right - SIPTU

SIPTU has reiterated its demand for the Government to guarantee its commitment to ensure the right to collective bargaining for Irish workers.

In a statement issued this morning, the country's largest union says it would like to be able to recommend for its members to support the Treaty.

According to SIPTU's Jack O’Connor collective bargaining is one of the key provisions of the Treaty.

And he wants the government to prove that it is serious about enshrining what he calls 'a fundamental right' for Irish workers.
