GAA president Sean McCague has set up a sub-committee to review the association's rule-book following the huge number of club and county controversies this year.

GAA president Sean McCague has set up a sub-committee to review the association's rule-book following the huge number of club and county controversies this year.

Cork escaped dismissal from the SFC despite fielding too many substitutes while in the Meath SFC, champions Dunshaughlin were beaten by Blackhall Gales but were handed a replay and eventually won out.

This week Na Fianna hit the headlines after they were dismissed from the Dublin SFC for fielding too many substitutes in their Dublin SFC win over Raheny.

The members of the sub-committee are: Paraic Duffy, chairman of the GAC; Frank Burke, chairman of the Galway County Board; Dan McCartan, chairman of the National Referees' Committee; Frank Murphy, secretary of the Cork County Board; James Nallen, Mayo senior footballer.
