Labour Court talks to prevent Tesco strike this evening

Talks aimed at averting industrial action in 75 Tesco stores across the country are to begin this evening at the Labour Court.

Talks aimed at averting industrial action in 75 Tesco stores across the country are to begin this evening at the Labour Court.

Over 9,500 staff are due to take to the picket lines this Friday in protest at low wages.

They are also seeking commitment from the company on a profit-sharing scheme, which is operated by Tesco in the UK.

Tesco management and the unions representing Irish staff, SIPTU and Mandate, will attend the discussions.
