The game looked destined for extra time when veteran defender Pat Scully knocked in the winner with five minutes remaining.

Scully paid tribute to the team's performance, saying that the win had showed that Shels were still hungry for more glory.

In the other tie of the night, Cobh Ramblers beat Athlone Town 1-0, with Will Bruton hitting the only goal in the 72nd minute. ~

They will now play either Waterford Utd or UCD.
