Irish potato growers are to meet officials from the Department of Agriculture to discuss the alleged mislabelling of produce in a major supermarket.

Irish potato growers are to meet officials from the Department of Agriculture to discuss the alleged mislabelling of produce in a major supermarket.

The IFA has sent samples to England for testing after receiving information that the supermarket was selling inferior and cheap potatoes labelled as Queens.

The IFA has urged consumers to check the variety and the grower’s name on the bag before buying potatoes.
