Working group set up to report on new post office services

A working group is due to report back to the Government within six months on additional business and services for post offices.

A recent report by Grant Thornton concluded that significant numbers of post offices would close by 2017, due mainly to changes in social welfare payments.

Today is the first of the two day Irish Postmasters Union conference in Tralee.

A cross-departmental group has been established to examine the future of the network.
