A woman who allowed people to store guns in the attic of her house has escaped jail because a judge agreed it would be unjust to imprison her as she was in fear for her life.
Vicky Griffin, aged 34 and from O’Malley Park in Limerick pleaded guilty at Limerick Circuit Court this evening to possession of a 12-gauge double barrel shotgun and possession of a rifle which had a telescopic lens attached.
Gardaí found the guns when they raided Ms Griffin's house in December 2007.
Judge Carol Moran said Ms Griffin had no choice to do what she did and was acting under duress.
A two-year suspended sentence was imposed.
