A woman has died in a road accident in Co Wexford.

A woman has died in a road accident in Co Wexford.

Gardaí are investigating the single-vehicle collision which happened at Harvey Place, New Ross, County Wexford, this evening Saturday at around 7pm.

A female passenger, aged 63, was killed when the vehicle she was travelling in struck a wall.

She was pronounced dead at scene and her body was taken to Wexford General Hospital where a post mortem is to be arranged.

The man driving the car, aged 59, was also brought to Wexford General Hospital with non-serious injuries.

Gardaí have made an arrest in connection with this investigation.

The scene has been preserved for the Garda Forensic team and the road has since re-opened.
