The Junior Health Minister has said that the high salaries enjoyed by top bank officials are far too high.
Alex Whites' comments come after it emerged today that 66 executives at banks, covered by the State guarantee, are paid more then €300,000 each per year.
1,700 bankers at failed Irish banks are still paid over €100,000 per year.
The figures, cover salaries at Allied Irish Banks, Bank of Ireland, IBRC and Permanent TSB.
It comes in the wake of news yesterday, that the Department of Finance admitted that the former Anglo Irish Bank, now called the IBRC, has hired a new executive, who will start work tomorrow, on an annual pay package of half a million euro.
