Water restrictions in place across Dublin

Water is being restricted across Dublin at night over the Bank Holiday weekend in a bid to conserve supplies.

Dublin City Council has announced the restrictions will be in place from 10pm until 7am or 9am in some areas every night until next Tuesday.

It will result in lower pressures and in some cases possible loss of supply throughout the entire city.

The restrictions are in place as a result of an increase in demand due to the cold weather, and a reduction in supply at the Roundwood reservoir.

Dublin City Council is stressing there is no problem with the quality of treated drinking water and anyone looking for advice on conservation should visit taptips.ie.
