Water restrictions continue in Dublin

Water restrictions remain in place in parts of Dublin's northside today.

It is more than a week since the HSE and Dublin City Council ordered residents in Clontarf to boil water if using it for drinking and cooking.

Dublin City Council carried out further tests yesterday and are awaiting the results to determine the safety of the water for consumption.

New water valves were also put in place on the mains in the affected area, over the weekend in a bid to improve circulation.

The exact cause of the contamination has not yet been determined but no other parts of the city are believed to be affected.
