The Health Minister Dr James Reilly has ordered urgent meetings with every health agency in receipt of HSE funding to ensure they are compliant with government pay policy.
Agencies, in receipt of Section 38 funding, that are found in breach of pay policy will be called before the Director General of the HSE before Christmas.
It follows the news that the Central Remedial Clinic has been using charitable donations to top up the salaries of senior staff.
That has led to calls for the appointment of a regulator to the charity sector.
