Two arrested following Dublin pizza driver hijacking

Gardaí have arrested two people, a man and a woman, after a pizza delivery man was hijacked in the early hours of this morning.

The pizza delivery driver was in Marewood Drive, Ballymun, at about 12.15 am this morning, attempting to make a delivery.

He was approached by a group of people, and a man forced him out of his vehicle before driving away with the female accomplice, gardaí say.

The car was later spotted by gardaí on patrol on St Helenas Road, Finglas, and abandoned at Cloonlara Crescent. Gardaí arrested a 24-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman at the scene.

They are being held at Ballymun Garda station.
