Trust in all major institutions in Ireland has declined over the past year, according to new research.

Trust in all major institutions in Ireland has declined over the past year, according to new research.

The Edelman Trust Barometer shows a drop in trust for Government, business, media and NGOs (non-governmental organisations).

Only 21% of people said they had faith in Government, compared to 32% last year.

Total trust in media is down 8% while the banking sector is the least-trusted industry in Ireland.
