Trócaire in call to budding artists

A nationwide competition will be launched today to find a design for next year's Trócaire box.

A nationwide competition is being launched today to find a design for next year's Trócaire box.

The winner of the primary schools competition will see their design used for Trocaire's 40th anniversary in 2013.

The winning entry will be sent to 1 million schools, homes and churches.

Primary school classes across the country are being urged to get creative this Lent, with the charity saying work "should be original and reflect the positive work of Trócaire".

The organisation said classes can create an image, a slogan, a poem or a reflection for their entry.

The closing date for receipt of entries is Friday, April 27.

Full details are on the Trócaire website.
