Transdev to cut Luas drivers' pay by 10% if work-to-rule continues

Luas operator Transdev says it will cut drivers' pay by 10% from this Friday if their work-to-rule continues.

The company claims the reduction reflects the costs being incurred as a result of the action.

Transdev says its written to SIPTU urging it to call off Thursday's strike.

The company says it's still open to talks "once a credible basis for negotiations exists"

In recent weeks, the NBRU have:

- Walked out of ongoing discussions at the Workplace Relations Commission on the implementation of a 10-minute frequency DART schedule (meeting planned for March 22, NBRU withdrew on March 18)

- Refused just yesterday evening to attend a meeting directly with Iarnród Éireann management this week to discuss issues surrounding DART drivers.

- Orchestrated unofficial action to prevent the in-cab familiarisation phase of training for new DART drivers.
