Over 20,000 people are expected to attend the Dublin Horse Show over the next number of days at the RDS.
Attendees will be treated to 14 International Show Jumping Events as well as classes, competitions and 300 trade stalls.
Prize money of nearly €1 million is on offer this year, including a €10,000 voucher for Dundrum Town Centre for the 'best dressed' at Ladies Day- which takes place tomorrow.
"There'll be riders coming from all over the world," said Leo Powell, Editor of the Irish Field, "but we're very fortunate in Ireland to have the equine equivalent of a Rory McIlroy or a Katie Taylor.
"Bertram Allen [is] in the top 10 international riders. He's going to be competing for Ireland this week."
The "cream of the crop" in Irish hoses are expected at the event.
Meanwhile, the Road Safety Authority and Horse Sport Ireland are launching a guide to horse safety on public roads this morning.
The booklet will give advice for road users and horse riders on how to share the road safely.
Horse-riders are treated as vulnerable road users and the RSA say that they need the same guidance that cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists have for using the road.
