Enda Kenny has said that Fianna Fáil cannot be trusted on the economy.
The Taoiseach also said that Sinn Féin are even worse, describing their figures as "unbelievable".
Speaking on the campaign trail in Carlow today, the Fine Gael leader also highlighted the rise in Portugal's lending rates after what he described as a Government of "socialists and communists" was elected there.
He said that people need to bear this in mind when voting.
"We also can see from our countries, not too far from here, what instability and confusion can mean," he said.
"The markets are merciless, they're merciless, and if Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin want to start projecting how they're going to have cuts in the Budgets that were already introduced to make up for uncosted programmes or black holes in their figures, then I think that the Irish people need to be very careful in their choice."
