Three teenagers have been jailed for the aggravated burglary of a woman's home, during which they threatened to cut off her ten year old son’s fingers.

Three teenagers have been jailed for the aggravated burglary of a woman's home, during which they threatened to cut off her ten year old son’s fingers.

Two of the boys were 16, and another was 17 when the incident happened last November.

The 25 minute ordeal ended when the victim showed the raiders where she had hidden €30,000 in cash from a restaurant's takings.

18 year old Liam Fox, with an address at Rossfield Park in Tallaght was sentenced to eight and a half years with the last three suspended after pleading guilty to aggravated burglary and car theft at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Two others, who cannot be identified because of their age, were sentenced to eight years with the final three years, and the final three and a half years suspended respectively.
