The Taoiseach has officially launched the Census 2016 today.

Forms will be distributed to households around the country over the next few weeks ahead of census night on April 24.

The day of the census also marks the calendar anniversary of the 1916 Rising.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny says the information we get every five years from the census is vital.
