Tánaiste calls on Flannery to attend PAC meeting about Rehab

The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has said he would "encourage" Frank Flannery to attend a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee for questioning about Rehab.

Mr Flannery, who is a senior Fine Gael strategist, is a director of Rehab and former Chief Executive of the group that has charitable status here.

A formal invitation from the Public Accounts Committee is to be issued to Mr Flannery to appear, while current Chief Executive Angela Kerins is to be asked to provide clarity on evidence she gave to the committee last week.

In the Dáil, Mr Gilmore again insisted senior pay levels in any organisation in receipt of taxpayers' money had to be made public, and he called on Mr Flannery to appear before PAC.
