SUSI expecting 110,000 grant applications this year

Midnight is the deadline for third-level student grant applications.

The grant awarding body, SUSI, is advising students to apply immediately, to make sure their grant is in place for the new academic year in September.

Those who have submitted their applications in time are prioritised for processing.

Graham Doyle, Head of Communications with Student Universal Support Ireland, said they are still expecting a further 20,000 applications this year.

He said: "We are anticipating something in the region of 110,000 applications, and to date we have received just over 90,000.

"So we are still about 20,000 out on what we expect."
