Survey reveals startling number of transgender people consider suicide

Up to 78% of transgender people have considered suicide, according to the Transgender Equality Network of Ireland.

The group has published the results of its survey which is the largest ever carried out in Ireland.

40% of respondents had attempted to take their own life at least once and 44% of people had self-harmed.
